Sagvold’s innovative teaching idea, the “Lisbon Legacy Project,” will create a permanent, interactive digital archive of Lisbon Public School’s history, achievements and community impact using the TouchPros platform. By using the interactive platform, they will include yearbooks, graduate class composites, athletic records and championship teams, Hall of Fame inductees, academics, arts, extracurricular achievements, and military recognition of alumni. Although generations of families have attended Lisbon Public School, much of the shared history is at risk of being lost due to aging materials, no digital records and limited accessibility. Sagvold believes the project preserves not only school history, but community identity. The Voya grant will go towards paying for cloud hosting services and yearbook digitization.
