Amy Keliher

Keliher’s creative teaching idea, “Addressing the Housing and Affordability Crisis,” involves having students taking college writing to engage in service-learning activities to study the important issue in the U.S. regarding housing crisis and housing affordability. According to Keliher, the students will organize two service projects to help both the Family Promise shelter and the Slinger Food Pantry, after studying books by sociologist Matthew Desmond and learning the research process. The Voya grant will be used to purchase books and supplies for the shelter and pay for printing and transportation.
