Monday, December 05, 2016

NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) — a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality — administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. The 2017 Index marked the 12th consecutive year that Voya has received a perfect CEI score.

"Voya has a commitment to maintaining an inclusive, high-performing work environment where all employees are valued for their differing views," said Voya's Kevin Silva, executive vice president and chief human resources officer. "Our vision of becoming America's Retirement Company means we must ensure we are working across the company to do all that we can to serve all Americans. Diversity and inclusion is a business imperative for us. And, we're proud to share the same values as many of our customer organizations. Congratulations to all of the organizations who received this noteworthy recognition."

Voya joins the ranks of 517 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year. The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Voya's efforts in satisfying all of the CEI's criteria resulted in the 100-percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
