Voya Financial’s Tom Lutter Appointed to Chester County Futures Board of Directors

Friday, October 14, 2016

Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that Tom Lutter, senior vice president, Financial Planning and Analysis, has been appointed to the board of Chester County Futures, an organization that provides comprehensive academic support, mentoring and scholarships for motivated, economically disadvantaged youth.

“We are honored to have Tom join our board, and we value the leadership he will bring to our organization,” said Maria McDonald, executive director, Chester County Futures. “The success of our organization hinges on community collaboration and support. We are grateful for Tom and our other board members who volunteer their time and expertise, while inspiring our community with their passion to create change in the lives of Chester County youth.”

In his current role, Tom has direct responsibility for the management reporting, planning, analysis, monitoring business performance and key strategic finance activities. Previously, Tom served in a variety of financial roles, most recently as chief financial officer of Voya’s U.S. Insurance Solutions business, which includes the Individual Life and Employee Benefits businesses. Prior to joining Voya, Tom worked for CIGNA Corp. and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He began his career as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, serving from 1992 to 1995.

“Chester County Futures is all about providing disadvantaged, motivated students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and pursue post-secondary degrees,” said Lutter. “Personally, I was able to fund my four-year degree from LaSalle University through academic and athletic scholarships, and I know how important this funding was in my becoming economically self-sufficient in my early adult years. I believe that, if someone is motivated, there should be opportunity for reward, and Chester County Futures provides that to those students.”

Chester County Future’s programming aligns with Voya Foundation’s vision to advance financial literacy. The organization’s  Passport to College financial literacy curriculum is designed to equip and empower students for academic and life success.
