Ure’s and Bal’s innovative teaching idea, “Using AR/3D to Teach High School Theoretical Chemistry,” focuses on making chemistry easier for high school students to understand. According to the teachers, most of the Augmented Reality (AR) and 3-Dimensional (3D) learning has been created for college-level chemistry students and they hope to investigate the impact of supplementing traditional high school chemistry with the use of these experiences. The Voya Unsung Heroes grant will be used to create an open access chemistry book for high school students that is written by the students and integrates AR/3D via a mobile app. The student-written open access book and an app will be free to any high school teacher and student in the world.
