Dolph’s innovative teaching idea, “Chemistry Through Storytelling,” focuses on using Next Generation Science Standards to enable students to perform storylining — a method of teaching that allows students to learn through solving a real-world problem. Through the project, a story lined unit presents a problem and students must create questions to be solved in order to answer that problem. Students then design activities and investigations that help them solve those problems. This project will enable students to explore chemistry concepts in a way that allows them to be in charge of their learning.
