Alexandra Robinelli

Robinelli’s creative teaching idea, “Music for All,” is designed to provide accessible general music instruments for students with a wide range of physical, sensory and cognitive disabilities. According to Robinelli, music education plays a significant role in developing emotional, cognitive and social skills. However, for many special education students, access to traditional music instruments can be a barrier to participation. The Voya grant will go towards paying for the special instruments, enhancing the special education program and allowing students to engage in music education in a way that accommodates their unique needs. She believes this program fosters Sherwood Elementary Schools’ commitment to providing an inclusive and accessible learning environment where all students, including those who are neurodivergent, can thrive.
