Responsible supply chain
Voya is committed to environmental sustainability practices and we seek to partner with suppliers and facility providers who share a similar view. Our corporate real estate staff engages our facilities’ landlords in the development of recycling programs and methods to reduce building energy and water use. Where landlord-run environmental programs exist, we often look to expand them and where they don’t, we seek to develop them. Voya’s sourcing teams, where appropriate, consider a supplier’s environmental impact when awarding business. Examples include evaluating the energy consumption of computer equipment or the carbon emissions of a shipper.
Our suppliers comply with Voya’s Supplier Code of Conduct. The code includes expectations that suppliers will conduct business in ways that protect, preserve and enhance the environment, which includes, but is not limited to, complying with all applicable local environmental laws and regulations as well as making reasonable efforts with respect to managing greenhouse gas emissions and waste, energy use, water consumption, recycling and management of hazardous materials. We also request that our suppliers, when applicable or appropriate, offer to us or use products and/or services that have acquired environmental certifications.
