David’s Claims 360 Story

Last summer, David* was injured on his way home from work

His injuries — a leg and hip fracture — were the result of an accident, and as a result, he was unable to work for several months. He was enrolled in Voya-offered Short Term Disability Income Insurance, so he filed a claim.

As the team handled his case, they could see that Short Term Disability Insurance wasn’t the only insurance product he was enrolled in. He was also enrolled in Accident Insurance and Hospital Indemnity Insurance.

Anna*, the claims adjustor on David’s case reached out to let him know. “I’m always very happy to be able to deliver this kind of information,” she said. “Normally when I call or talk to people, the news isn’t this exciting. But these calls are the hidden gems because they may not remember they have these coverages.”

David received a $17,275 Accident Insurance benefit payment and a $5,400 Hospital Indemnity Insurance benefit payment for the covered events he experienced

“To be able to say to someone, ‘We’re going to pay the benefits you’re eligible for on the coverages you have, and you don’t even have to set up the claim — I’ve taken care of it,’ is really satisfying,” Anna continued. “Claims integration shows a different side of insurance. And here at Voya, we’re all looking for opportunities like this, every day.”

“There’s a rapport that you build with the customer on cases like this, ones that go across multiple products,” Anna said. “They know you’re looking out for them, trying to make sure they are taken care of. And that’s something I love to be able to do.”

David’s integrated claim process included three insurance products offered by Voya Employee Benefits:
