Voya Financial named to Working Mother’s 2019 list of 100 Best Companies
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that it has been named to the 2019 list of 100 Best Companies by Working Mother magazine.
Inclusion on the Working Mother Best Companies list reflects Voya’s commitment in areas such as female representation and advancement, benefits, parental leave, childcare and flextime. This is the 34th year that Working Mother has published its Best Companies list.

As part of the recognition from Working Mother, one of Voya’s employees, Sylena Echevarria, vice president, Retirement Readiness Service Center, has been selected to represent the company as one of the Working Mothers of the Year. Sylena has three children and will be recognized at an awards dinner at Working Mother’s WorkBeyond Summit, which will be held Oct. 16-17, 2019, in New York.
When asked what guidance she could share with other working moms, Sylena said that she brings her children to volunteer events where she gives them responsibilities to help out.
“I treat them as my interns and give them opportunities to see, learn and do,” said Sylena. “They’ve learned some valuable life skills while helping me get things done. It’s a great experience for all of us.”
The 2019 Working Mother 100 Best Companies application includes more than 400 questions on leave policies, workforce representation, benefits, childcare, advancement programs, flexibility policies and more. It surveys the availability and usage of these programs, as well as the accountability of the many managers who oversee them.
