Student loan debt solutions

Savi student loan guidance features are included in Voya’s standard offering

Student loan debt can be a significant challenge no matter where an employee is in their career, especially in light of the evolving regulatory landscape. This can impact their ability to save for retirement and other goals. To help employees manage their student loan debt, in June 2025 Voya announced a collaboration with Savi, an industry leader in student loan and education benefits. Through Savi, Voya offers clients a comprehensive suite of student loan debt solutions that complement Voya’s support of the SECURE 2.0 Act’s student loan match provision.

As part of our collaboration, we provide plan participants access to Savi’s student loan guidance with links on Voya’s Participant Website — in the Financial Wellness dashboard, Money Matters Resources and Retire Better Resources.

The Savi student loan guidance experience includes:

After participants use Savi’s tool to assess their eligibility for income-driven repayment plans and loan forgiveness programs, Savi offers premium services to participants who may benefit from Savi’s help with paperwork for income-based repayment plans, paperwork for loan forgiveness programs, or personalized one-on-one assistance from Savi’s student loan experts to navigate complex repayment and forgiveness options. Participants who elect Savi's premium services pay Savi directly. These guidance services are offered outside of recordkeeping services and are not subject to ERISA. Savi provides a money-back guarantee on the premium services.

Employers have the option to contract directly with Savi for a custom microsite which includes Savi’s guidance solution and can be enhanced with additional student loan and education benefits for your employees.

Savi is a separate entity and not a corporate affiliate of Voya Financial (Voya). Voya may earn compensation from Savi in connection with an employer’s decision to directly engage Savi’s services. This additional compensation may be considered “indirect compensation” for purposes of DOL Regulation 29 C.F.R. § 2550.408b-2(c)(1)(IV)(C). In addition, Voya earns compensation from Savi if an individual elects Savi’s premium guidance solutions by way of the Voya website, independent of an employer-sponsored offering.
